name of comedian

I once saw an american (canadian?) comedian who was very funny and I wanted to see if any of his material was available on DVD. He was quite fat and had a loud and energetic delivery. All I can remember is one sketch he did about being married and his wife saying he could go out with his friends but he had to leave his penis at home (detaches lead from handle of microphone). He then pleads to his friends to kill him if they see him in the garden ('Look at this face, I'm in hell here etc). Any ideas?

I remember that. He'd wear a beret, and when his wife removed his penis before going out ("You won't be needing this then!") he'd tap the mike for effect. No sure if it is Sam Knitson though

Yeah it was him definately. He also had a couple of small roles in a number of commedy films. If you can find eighties US comedy tapes, or copies of Just For Laughs festivals with Emo Phillips, Sandra Bernhart etc on chances are Sam will also be featured.
