Hi,
Due to the risk of swelling, if you have broken a bone and have been fitted with a plaster cast you cannot fly for 24 hours if you have a flight of two hours or less and 48 hours for longer flights. Check with your airline immediately!
This has just happened to a friend of mine. His airline says they won't take him on his booked long-haul flight in a couple of days time because of the risk of DVT.
you can fly with your foot in plaster, but you'll have to flap your arms faster to compensate for the extra weight.
All airlines have a separate policy on this and a different way of being cleared to fly by a medic. Check with the airline.
Could you fly before??
