Re-marriage and estate

My mother and father are divorced and want to re-marry. My mother is disabled and is worried that if she goes into care she will lose her house and savings. If she re-marries my father will this still be the case?

My understanding is that the house will not be at risk as the Local Authority will not normally be able to take into account property where a spouse or dependant continues to reside.Savings will depend on the amount involved.If you check with someone like Age Concern they will advise you
