5 Answers
I am trying to grow my shoulder length hair long again, my cousin who isnt a hairdresser but does cut peoples hair (she is very good at it and thins out my thick hair really well) but she says i should leave mine for 6 months and then she will cut it thin ait and feather it, but i am thinking of going to hairdressers and getting it trimmmed very slightly every 2 months - i dont want loads of split ends dfor 6 months plus i do use my irons every week! what do you reckon?

hi im a hairdresser and say just get it cut when u notice it needs it. If ur using ur irons every week, u might get away with 6 months but ul start to feel it going thin and bitty at the ends and they may not straighten properly, thats when it time to get it cut! but every 2months isnt necessary if your growing it! hope helps!
If you value your hair in any way, you will only let a professional cut it!
I would recommend that you get your hair cut every 6/8 weeks depending on how quickly your hair grows even if it is only the ends that you are trimming!
Regular conditioning treatments are also good especially if you straighten your hair!
If there is a Salon services or Sallys near you I would recommend a product called INFRATREAT.....the spray bottle is better value and reduces excess use!
You could also go to Holland and Barrat health shop and buy sillica tablets and take them as they are fantastic in promoting natural hair growth!
