Recommend a light laptop?

Can anyone recommend a good light laptop? - Also should I get XP rather than Vista

not sure about the light laptop but from what I have heard on here about it steer well clear of vista and keep to xp.....

Stick with XP if you can.

If you're prepared to try the mac route, then the macbook is a great little machine.

If you need to stick with windows, then check out some of the IBM laptops, or the Toshiba Port�ge range for really small machines.

The problem is that once Microsoft bring out a new operating system they require all companies to move to the new OS and stop pre-loading the old OS.

So you may have trouble buying one with XP. See if you can find a company or web site with some stock of laptops with XP on it.

As others have said, steer clear of Vista for a year till they sort out the problems.

not sure about the laptop but i know philips do one and so do sony. as for xp over vista

vista is for two types of people
a) someone who is prepared to fiddle
b) someone who is compleately new to computers and dosent have any old hardware to plug in or old software to install
