im looking to be a airline pilot and i've heard that you can train with the raf then transfer over to be a airline pilot but is there any in the manchester area and can you transfer over.if there is can you please send a link so i can contact them.

"Armed Forces' Experience
If you are a qualified pilot from the armed forces, you can take a conversion course to obtain a commercial pilot�s licence. There is strong competition for pilot training in the forces and you must serve a minimum term before taking up employment with an airline."

They are not going to spend shedloads of money training you so that you can bu**er off and fly planes for someone else :-p

There are some scholarships available to exceptional candidates, there are training providers all over the country.The main problem encountered is the cost, approx �50,000 and most people have to self finance. There are very few banks that are willing to lend this kind of money. However Cabair is a reputable training school in Oxford, they have direct links to finance.
