my legs are unbelievably scarred. when i wear shorts, people ask me what happened. i LOVE summer but i dread it .just once, i'd like to be able to bare my legs without being self-conscious. it's always in the back of my mind. i know i could just wear pants, but it still bothers me cause i still know the scars are there, and i don't like the feeling of having something to hide. if i could just find some body makeup that's affordable and works good without looking fake, i would feel a lot better. foundation covers everything up, but it rubs off and i'd have to buy like 2 bottles a week! (for me, that's expensive) I"M SICK OF BEING ASHAMED! anyone know of any GOOD body makeup?

Morning bobbikay, what about that new stuff that is advertised on tv, sorry cant remember the name of it but apparently it helps with stretch marks and scarring. Havent tried it myself but you could look into it, watch out for the ad. You dont say how you got scarred but I have an horrific 10" scar running from just below my ribs on the left hand side right round my back up to my left shoulder blade, it is very deep and calcified (sp) and attached to the bone, you would think some one attacked me with a machete! But quite frankly I don't give a damn, when I go on holiday I wear bikinies and if people want to stare I let them, not my problem, its theirs. Untimately, you don't have to explain these scars to anyone.

good luck

Not sure if either of these would be any good for covering scars, but have you looked for

"Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs" (can buy over the net)

or

"Beline Air Stocking", which I got on a promo offer from Debenhams last year.
There is a make up called Dermablend which is especially for covering up birthmarks and other skin problems. It's at www.dermablend.co.uk
It's meant for faces, but would probably work for legs, or maybe they do a body one too. Hope it helps
The stuff warpig is thinking of is bio oil. An assertiveness course might boost your self-belief - the less you are thinking of your scars, the less other people will be. Best luck.
Bio oil is rubbish ..Have been using it for over a year on a self inflicted stab wound on my leg (accident with a pearing knife) & it still looks the same.
yes, i did health and beauty thereapy at college and we were told of Dermablend, it is supposed to be very good. It comes in many different shades. good luck
Dermablend is great and comes in a leg and body make-up that is waterproof and will stay on even in a pool. You have to remove it with a special cleanser although a good scrub usually does the trick! They have now been rebranded as Vichy Dermablend but I think QVC the shopping channel still stocks it as it was incredibly popular. You would need to buy a small amount first in order to get a colour match for your skin but I think that they also do trial packs. Good luck. I have scars, too, and it's really distressing come summer. xx
