my grandson has just come to live with me social services have placed him with me. it is very stressful with my daughter at the moment but i don't know if i should apply for residency for his safety more than anything else he is likely to be with me for the forseeable future i would welcome any advice.

Sorry I dont have any advice for you maggs 1703.Just wishing you all the best at what must be a difficult time for you.
If SS have placed the child with you for his own safety they should be applying to the court for an ICO (interim care order)with residency with you so that you can share parental responsibility with the council.

thank you so much i am making an appointment monday morning to see the social worker i will ask her about the intrim care order my only concern at the moment is my grandson and his welfare i just don't want him being used as apwn in this mess again many thanks i will look into it
