How soon after making a large deposit in my account can I use my debit card to buy a car. I know it takes three working days for the cheque to clear.

It differs from Bank to Bank but about 5 days is average if you've paid a cheque in. If you pay cash in, you can usually use your debit card the next day - sometimes even the same day.

I know that with my bank once the cash is paid in the money is there to be used with my card straight away. This would only take longer if the cashier didnt process the cash through their till straight away which shouldn't happen.
