Hiya!
Just puchased a PS3 and I have had nothing but problems with the damn thing since I plugged it in! It took TWO AND A HALF HOURS just to register the IP address, but now it won't put the Internet through. I keep getting the error number: "80710102".
Can anyone shed some light on this overpriced table decoration?
Thanks,
Fiona!

Should of got a 360 !
Mines been fine.
I've spent most of today playing MotorStorm online and getting my arse kicked.

What's all this about registering IP addresses? When does that happen?

How is yours connecting to the internet?
Mines connected using my Netgear wireless router, though I'm using an ethernet cable rather than wifi.

I've finally got it up and running! I decided to discard the wireless and make it wired. Mine was also connecting through a Netgear wireless router, but it was from AOL, so that's probably why!
Thanks for your help!

Shoulda bought a Wii, they are SO much fun
Wii has novelty value only imho
I had a similar problem connecting my PS3 to my wireless router. In the end I rebooted the router completely as it was connecting to the router but having a problem assigning with the DNS. Had to be a reboot though, just turning the thing off was not helping. Even then it took a couple of goes running through through the auto set up of the networking utility on the PS3 before it connected.

The Xbox 360 was a breeze compared to the PS3 to connect, same with the wii.
