Can anyone recommend staying at Petworth for the weekend? Thinking of staying in the Old Railway Station, but what is there to do in the area during the day? Any good pubs and restaurants in the evening? We are 50 ish but young at heart !

The old railway station has a web site:
http://www.old-station.co.uk/main.htm

On that site they have a small list of local things to do:

Nearby is Petworth House, a National trust property

Nearby there is also the Weald and Downland Museum, where they rescue old medieval buildings and rebuild them on the site.

If you have a car you are not far from the sea: Brighton, Chicester, Portsmouth, Worthing, Bognor.
A few web sites for the local area
