msn and yahoo

For 18 months now I have ran msn messenger and yahoo messenger side by side and no problem .now for some reason I cant access any thing if I have YAHOO MESSENGER up as well.I have to sign out and delete from screen to acess anything else.I tried uninstalling it and re installing but makes no difference.If I want to contact anyone on yahoo messenger I have to put it up then ok but have to sign out and delete to use everything else which works ok .Hope I have worded this to make sense to anyone that might know what is wrong.computer is clean have ran checks.Thanks for any replies

Not sure about the problem, but there are messenger clients that work with both msn and yahoo and keep all your contacts on one list. I use Adium which was recommended to me by someone on here. I think it may be for Mac's only but there are similar for pc's - trillian or gaim I think.
