Samuel, I would lie and go with Oasis, and if the 'Take That' scenario comes up say you sister made you go and it wasn't your fault!

I have also seen Oasis in concert and they were great, got right up to the front and this guy asked if I wanted to get up on his shoulders, I said yes and was eyeball to eyeball with Laim Gallagher, and what did I do? I flashed my boobs at him, classy girl or what, or what probably! In my defence I was under the influence slightly and it seemed like a good idea at the time! Was cr*pping myself afterwards as my friends said it was being recorded for a TV broadcast!
The Damned in 1976 at Derby
1962 Beatles at the Astoria in Oldham.
My 1st was George Michael in 1988 at the NEC. Also that year I went with my mum to see......God its quite embarassing ......here goes.....Barry Manillow. :( !!

pussnboots, the Beatles, how cool.

cockroach, Barry Manilow, what can I say except:

Well you came and you gave without taking
but I sent you away, oh Cockroach
well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today, oh Cockroach
Warpig ~ Gotta say I did enjoy myself at the Take That gig. 13 years old and with my big sister and her friends (one of whom I had the most excruciatingly embarrassing crush on) and at my first real concert. The noise, the crowd, the heat - the smell,!! Mmmmm heady times. Would have loved to have been at the same Oasis gig as you ;-) Sadly I missed out on that. It could have been a formulative part of my teenaged years, watching you flash Liam.
Ha ~ c0ckroach HA!!! Barry manilow, BARRY MANILOW !!!
LOL I'm sooo pleased that he didn't feature in my sister's musical youth. I would never, ever have lived that down. At least Take That are on the rise again. lmao

Samuel, good point, you can say you saw Take That before they were famous, you trend setter you.

Not sure you would want to be at that Oasis concert, I was 84 at the time, you would have been scarred for life, count yourself lucky!!!
Angel pie - do you know Alexander O'Neil is touring again this year? You could get another chance!

My first concert was age 13, the Big Twix Mix featuring East 17 (my favourite at the time), Backstreet Boys, Michelle Gayle, Ultimate Kaos and a few other rubbish 90's acts

The next year I saw Boyzone (replaced E17 as my favourite) and had an "I love Ronan" poster!
Snap, Unrulie!

November 4th 1982, Hammersmith Odeon..Duran Duran on their 'Rio' tour. I wore a trilby hat just like John Taylors, and the next day I was hoarse

*sigh*
WARPIG... you have just made me nearly pee myself LOL...v good.
I also have to say...sad as it is..the 'nose's' concert was very entertaining & he has got a good voice... It was for my mum tho ...really it was..

Pippa and unruliejulie, it is sad to remember how we dressed like our idols, I remembering burshing my rather short hair from one side to the other so there was no parting, wearing baggy trousers, robin hood boots, frilly blouses and trench coats, how embarrasing, could have been worse I suppose, the boys wore frilly blouses and makeup too. What a bunch of losers, ha, ha, happy days when you could borrow your brothers makeup, clothes and hairspray!

cockroach, I must own up, mrwarpig and I have a Barry Manilow record and sadly we have been known to shuffle round the residents lounge in our care home on our zimmer frames to the melodic cords of Copacabana!
lol Pippa, that's the one! At the end of the night my Dad was waiting for us and their driver asked him to move when they were coming out so he asked if he would give him a nod to let us know they were on their way. He did and we got to wave to them on their coach, John Taylor waved directly at us and my mate got a fabulous photo of him looking our way!!! swoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also saw Culture Club and Wham!

Warpig, you are quite right, it was sad but how i would love to turn the clock back to those days! I always wore my futurist scarf, my pixie boots and my frilly blouse!!! A Duranie fashion slave !!!! LOL
My first proper concert was also Duran Duran on the Rio tour but in Liverpool and they were fab. Couldn't bear to see them tour last year in case they didn't live up to the memories!
Oh Suzy..I went ~ and they DID! in fact, they were better than ever.

I was close enough to see Simons package ;o)

Unrulie...OMG, my dad was taking us & collecting too. We saw the bus drive by, and JT waved at us as we were getting into the car. My mate went crackers..and I was uspet as I hadn't seen Simon.. *cringes*.
I was going to say Stevie Wonder - my choice ... but had grotesque flashback and it was OMG the Nolans, some guy I really liked organised a surprise treat as a first ( and last) date.
I went to see David Bowie, in the very early 80's i thought he was fanastic, brillant it was the one with Let's Dance when it was in the charts, eve
The old gentleman wheels his chair to the front, coughs to clear his throat, and whispers

David Bowie in the Ziggy Tour in 1973.

I paid for my girlfriend as well, so that cost me a massive 3.00 for two tickets.
Question Author
ha,ha Andy, could have been worse, could have paid in pounds, shillings and pence!
dave - i don't believe for a minute your birth year is 1969 - you clearly have the mind of a spotty 13 year old.
your "comebacks" are utterly useless.

what a loser!
