Council wants to separate couple after 60 years
An elderly couple may be separated after 60 years to together because of a local authority ruling. Mrs Dunnell, 80, suffers from dementia and is on a waiting list for a council owned with twenty four seven care. Her husband however, has been deemed too well and must continue to live in their bungalow alone. The couple are said to be horrified. What do you think? Should this be allowed? They might not be able to look after eachother but if they have been together for 60 years the seperation will cause a detremental effect. The older generation don't seem to be looked after as well as they should anymore. I know if I had a bigger house I would have my granddad live with me.
This is only in the news because it is clearly wrong. I'd be surprised if anyone thought otherwise. The local authorities have probably made a mistake and internal red tape and beaurocracy have let it get to a stage that it shouldn't have done. When they reverse the decision, it won't make the news needless to say....
Well,if this does happen...Dont be supprised if Mr Dunnel is found dead after a few weeks. ....and Mrs Dunnel To.!
