Funny smell of egg
2 Answers
last year we had a smell of egg in our kitchen. It isn't constant and doesn't appear at any particular time. We've checked for leaks from the washing machine etc, there is nothing behind the units and don't know what the smell is. It comes from around the area of the boiler. Someone suggested that we poke a wire coathanger in the flu pipe of the boiler outside. the smell went for a bit over winter but has come back again and its really annoying and embarrassing! Any ideas? Thanks x

rotting veg
cleaning products
old curtains/carpets
Has nothing fallen down the back of a worksurface or if it's a floor based boiler has something fallen down the back of there??
If you can pull furniture away from the wall to look down I would, if you cannot do that but there are small gap I would try and use a small mirror to see if anythings back there.
Some kitchen units are strangly built so at times items can be pushed off a shelf and behind the unit ,is that possible. Has something leaked on a unit or in a cubboard like milk which could have seaped through a gap and left unnoticed.
Could a animal have got in your house a climbed into the boiler outer casing to keep warm and died. -> have you ever had a hamster go missing lol.
