Pellets

The other day my fella was stroking one of our cats and noticed a tiny lump right at the top underside of his front leg (sort of where your armpit would be) After both of us feeling this lump we realised it is a pellet just under the skin (we can tell its a pellet cos of the shape and feel of it) We then checked our other two cats over and noticed one of them has 2 or 3 of these lumps (again just under her skin)

We have noticed in the past that both cats have had tiny tears in their skin but just assumed they had caught themselves on a fence or something, now I realise it may have been where they have been shot. Will these pellets need to be removed? They dont seem to be causing the cats any problems but Im worried that they may get lead poisoning or something.

Don't know whether they will cause any problems - why not phone the vet and ask them. Better safe than sorry.

And if I was you I'd find out who's been shooting the cats and then I'd shoot pellets into them and see how they like it!

thanks anna, i was gonna phone the vets but it was engaged every time i tried. We have to take him soon for his frontline and check up so i will ask em then :)

I have a good idea who is shooting them, theres a guy on our street who tells everyone who will listen that any animals going in his garden will be shot :( (he is pretty bonkers though and says all sorts of crap) I would love to have proof it was him cos i would either stick the air rifle up his backside or I would be straight on the phone to the police

Best get the pellets out in case they are lead based, which could cause problems. As for the guy thats doing this he should be reported to the police and the RSPCA. Don't wait for proof that is him, just report it any way. The old ******!

as for the fella, i got told yesterday that he has been reported already :D hope they bloody do something about it !!!
