I have tried to re install windows but it says there is a serius problem and will not let me. When i start up again in safe mode evertthing seems to be ok but i cant keep doing this.Has anybody got any ideas what the problem is?

Could be faulty RAM, if it is fairly new, and was purchased new and has a warranty, take it back.

Yeh thanks. Built the thing myself so can't take it back. Will try the RAM. Read elsewhere it could be RAM or power supply or power source. Gets a bit expensive to keep swapping bits.
I know what you mean, built mine myself, got two lots of faulty ram and the original graphics card was incompatible with my Asus motherboard, and had to be replaced with an Asus branded one.
