Canon EOS 400D RAW images

Have just bought one. When I try to take photos in the RAW + JPEG format, it's supposed to produce one RAW image and one JPEG image at the same time. However, it produces two JPEG images. I can't find the answer in the handbook or on the Canon website. I don't know whether the camera might be faulty or whether I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone help?
