Clio starting problems Help!!!

Hi all, My car starts ok when cold, but occasionaly is difficult to start once warm/hot, turns over fine, if left for a while it starts again, engine also idles at just under 500revs at all times, is this right. its a 2000 1.2 grande
any advice welcome.

The tickover does seem to a bit slow - as for the hard to start when warm I would suspect the engine temp sensor maybe faulty - has the reading on the temp gauge been normal?
