Why are men more brave than birds?

I was just watching a Bravo TV show called "World's Most Amazing Videos".

It is apparent to see that during incidents that require some degree of instant rescue or saving evasive action, men are naturally so much better than the fairer, and dare I say, more cowardly sex.

The best examples being when a helicopter crashes, all the birds flock for safety, even leaving the kids behind. Whereas the men used their arms to cover the fleeing skirts, quickly gathered up children and had an air of bravery and dignity about them.

There was also an armed raid in a Jewellers shop. The fluffier sex screamed and panicked whereas the men protected, as best they could, the boobed ones.

So my question is. Are men naturally better in crisis situations than women, or can you give examples where men are not the warrior type nature has us believe?

Try child birth then tell us
No actually I don't think they are all the time. Certainly my wife's ex flatmate is one of the quickest thinking bravest people I know. She was in London and heard a woman screaming and wrestling with a man who was slapping and hitting her and trying to get her to get into a car, with all other passers by pretty much ignoring the situation. She put her phone to her ear stood about 20 yds from the man and yelled very authoritively
"Stay where you are! I'm an off duty police officer and I've called for assistance. Move away from the car and "
at which point the guy legged it, which is exactly what she was hoping he'd do, lol.
None the less she was the only person who did anything at all and she was girl.
Personally I'm prone to sticking my oar in, but I've seen plenty of women do likewise, depends on the type of woman, there are a few "oh I might break a nail " types, but by and large I think wmen are as capable as men in a crisis.
hmmm, Im not sure. When it comes to jumping over a dozen cars on a motorbike it would be because men are a bit stupid. I know in a crisis situation and children were involved I would be the first to put myself in the way of any child. I saw a 6 yr old boy getting pounced upon by a rather angry looking doberman and there were plenty of men around but it was me that got in between the dog and the kid, and naturally I am terrified of mist animals in fact.

I wouldnt scream in an armed raid and I would never flock for safety if children needed saving, even with a mighty male around.
and also trying to be brave is not always the best thing to do but sometimes the stupidest
its because blokes are designed to act first think after
we are very reactive were as birds tend to think about things then decide wat they shoud do

unless its about shopping for handbags etc haha ;~P
and you seem to be a brave one calling us birds
because from the moment we are born we are taught and conditioned to be girly and pink and fluffy and are told we are physically weaker and that certain things are 'mans work' and certain sports are 'mans sports' and told if we even so much as attempt to change a fuse we will be laughed off the face of the earth - because its a mans job...

boys on the other hand, from birth are taught and conditioned to be tough, and rugged and strong, and given weapons as toys, and expected to enjoy combat and war and boxing and always to protect their younger siblings and then when they grow up they are to be the protector of their families, and to try to be the alpha male, and if they so much as look at a doily they are wimps...

so, when as situation arises, men think their muscle mass will save the day, women use guile, because they know they are not invincible.
women will assess, men barge in all guns blazing - automatically of course...both men and women can do both.
men will obviously create a plan given a moment to stop and think, and most women will put themselves in grave danger to save their children, because instinct over takes logic.

the other conditioning in women is that they think they will be protected by the men in these situations, that they are to stand back and let the big tough men deal with the problem, and men in turn have the protection conditioning and instantly snap into that mode

it all comes from years of conditioning.

and it is mens fault that some women may end up helpless and useless in those situations because of their refusal to allow women to behave like human beings first and foremost, the supression of nature in favour of nurture based on polite society, and wanting their daughters and wives to be 'pretty little things'
Of course, Joe_the_Lion has demonstrated his bravery through watching Bravo TV. Such resilience and audacity in the face of adversity surely deserves reward.
