Must I attend a leaver's Interview?
Sent my letter of resignation to employer last week and have now received a letter accepting my resignation with a Questionnaire to fill out. But also, they have booked me in for an interview with my line manager and the senior management to dicuss why I decided to leave.
My decision is quite personal and I am not close to anyone of these managers. I have been quite ill due to work and this meeting will just have me in tears and I'll leave on a real low. In a previous job I had the option of going of not and this one hasn't. Can I write back saying I do not wish to attend?

If you made your reason clear in the letter thats all they need, sorry to be flippant but what can they do? Sack you? :-) Your obviously not happy, so I wouldnt get upset about it, In case your worried about the prospect of references in the future, if your employment history is fine and they have been happy with your work, it wont be a problem their either!
Im Sorry to hear its making you upset, I know its easier said by a stranger, but its only a job at the end of the day, We work to live, not live to work!

You are leaving, this is formality to ensure that at some future date you don't turn round and say you were treated unfairly and no one listened. if you decide you don't want to have an exit interview that is your decision and will go on your file - if you have any grievances i would write them in a letter to be attached to your file but state you do not wish to have a face to face interview at time of exit.
