Apart from operating as a company director you could in effect take any job you were offered. There is of course the issue on trust. Some companies won't employ a bankrupt (even sadly a discharged one) particularly if their bankruptcy was as a result of reckless behaivoir (for example if you went mad with credit cards and just went bankrupt to avoid making any repayments). The other thing to bear in mind is if you get a well paid job the OR may require you to make a debt repayment contribution to your creditors, and that can last up to three years (longer if you have ben proved to have been reckless).
The up side (if you can call it that) is that as there are so many more people declaring themselves bankrupt threse days it's not as un-common as it once was and therefore has less of a stigma attached to it.

if they credit check you they will find out. if they don't they won't!!! If you are still bankrupt how will they pay you? do you have a bank account? People can become bankrupt for a myriad of reasons, if it comes to it and they find out, they will probably ask about it - being bankrupt doesn't mean you are dishonest or will be dishonest in the future.
Good luck with the new job, don't let this hang over you - go get 'em !!!!!

thank you both for your information and for taking the time to reply.
i have been working for 2 weeks now an nothing has been said.
the receiver allowed me to keep my bank account and controll of it as my bankruptcy was caused by being made redundant and not through dishonesty. so no probs there.
the end is in sight i should be discharged in sept with a baby on the way, things are looking a lot brighter thank they did no so long ago
thank you both once again
