A couple of days ago my PC got infected with something

Virus checkers dont pick it up , but these are the symptoms:

I have a couple of online accounts

Barclays and Nationwide use a dropdown letter / number selection as part of the login process

At this point the page gives an "error" and reports (sic)

"Sorry we unable to recognize letters (digits) from your memorable world / passnumber

Please enter word / passnumber below"

When I try and login via Paypal I'm presented with a screen asking for everything about me (address / NI Number / phones / card numbers / ATM numbers)

Looked at the source and links of these pages and everything seems to point to the proper sites

Cant find owt on the Net , the bank experts tell me to run virus checkers , but this seems to be the sneakiest thing I've ever seen

It only affects IE , Firefox seems OK

Any help appreciated

Mike

Key loggers spring to mind here, personally when typing sensitive info I always use the on screen keyboard for passwords numbers ect. Suggest you do a highjack this log & post. You could also try a scan with A2 http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/
or an online scan with Symantec, virus & security.

I would suggest also you dont use any bank sites or pay pal untill you have sorted this, as they should not be asking for some of the details that they are.

Thanks for that mate. Will check the stuff out. Have had my Internet a/cs locked until I get it sorted.

The weirdest thing is the information gathering page. It's like somethings rewriting the web page , but all the signs are the web site is valid. Will let you know how I get on
Best idea is to download and scan with Adaware and Spybot then visit here
http://forum.malwareremoval.com/index.php
and follow the instructions for HijackThis. The experts there will talk you through cleaning up your comp properly.
