Answers are places in the world. I'm really stuck on parts of this quiz, after getting off to a good start, especially ones where local knowledge of area around Matlock is concerned. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thank you all, you are obviously well-travelled.No JMR27, the places don't have to be capital cities, which is probably why I've never heard of some of the places!
Brilliant JMR 27.I've just Googled Darwin Forest, and I'm sure its correct. The clues are arranged to visit places roughly nearby, and the clue after Darwin is SPRAIN ADA. Does that geographical location help you at all? The clues after that are in Indonesia.
I am having trouble with SPRAIN ADA found a place called Samarinda which geographically fits but of course the M is wrong. Thing is some of the places I have for answers do have different spellings in different atlases.
I agree with candled about the different spellings, some maybe local, others international...Ulan Bator for example...Also, they do seem to be a tad obscure some of these places, even to a seasoned geographer like me! I can't do anything with 34 either. What is the next one in sequence please?
Sorry I can' t be of more help here poodledoo, because it's getting to me now and I' m not even doing the quiz! As candled said, Saraminda is one of the few places with an 'i' in it, and it's not as though p and m are next to each other on the keyboard to make it a possible typo. I'll keep looking, but am out this evening, so may be tomorrow before I can look again.
Poodledoo, I have spoken to the quiz compiler and have been advised that SPRAIN ADA is correct, there were errors on 39 and 74 however,
39 has an M missing
74 the V should be N
Sorry to say that I'm no further forward with Sprain Ada! Have been over the appropriate area in the National Geographic atlas with a magnifying glass in case I had missed something! If inspiration strikes, I'll start a new thread to let you know.
Poodledoo, a rather delayed reply to one of you messages, for the SPRAIN ADA clue I have SAMARINDA which has an M instead of a P, I'm still struggling with 17 and 18 also 76 over the page, can you help?
I wonder if any-one will be so kind as to help me with 76.The shorter spelling of to rotate into coincidence with another plane. 84. A traditional long-bladed Philippine knife.stirred horse. I have a few more to do but I cannot solve these two.
