does anyone know whether your spouses debts are still yours if you divorce him. Also, can you divorce when you are still living in the same house.

Your spouses debts aren't yours even if you are married. Unless you mean they are joint debts..in which case yes ~ even though you divorce they are still joint debts.

As far as I am aware you can divorce whilst living in the same home. I can't understand why you would want to live with someome you are divorcing ~ unless of course you get along splendidly :o)
Debts can be "joint and several" in which case both parties signed the original agreement. In this instance you would be liable for part of the debt and creditors have a nasty habit of targeting the easiest (or most vulnerable) member of the partnership. As long as you were not a co-signator you should have no resposibility. And yes, it is possible to divorce whilst still living under the same roof but you must be able to show that you are not co-habiting (or not having sex) during this time so check out how you you should set up the living arrangements.
You must take legal advice on the cohabiting part - my wife's washed the clothes of her ex (together with her own and kids) and therefore the divorce was thrown out once. It was rejected a second time as he had cut the grass!
