Hi I need help!!!

I have an acer travelmate laptop.

most of the keys on my laptop keyboard has stopped working - poss damp from a leak the other day but dont think so - has been kept in a dry warm room to dry out just in case - switches on ok and some of the keys work...
because there is a password on there i cant even get into it due to reasons listed above!!

in desperate need of help!!!

A quick diagnosis would be to plug a usb keyboard in and see if it works then.

Check - have you got the number lock on?
Check the BIOS to ensure that all is set correctly in that too

sorry to sound thick but what is a boios and can i access it without going pasrt the screen where i enter my password?

Do you have a user manual ?
If not - try pressing F12 or F10 at boot up to access the BIOS - Which allows you to change the settings on the laptop
