i am writting a speech for my wedding.i know its not traditional for the bride to speak, but i would like to thank my parents for my wedding in person.Has anyone done this before, and do you have any poems or sayings that would be suitable, and make my mums day.!!really need help as have no idea what to say.x
On my wedding day i was so nervous and my speech so bad that my wife got up and gave a far better speech than me.Just go for it and say whatever you want, its your day after all.
All the best for your marriage
Mum and Dad, you've brought me up and I really want to say
That I love you very much on this very special day.
You've looked after me, protected me from the horrors of the world,
But although I'm taking adult steps, I'm still your little girl.
I'll always need your love, you know, your presence in my life
Even though from this day forth, I am someone's wife.
So thank you both for everything, because my life sprang from you
I'll use you as my role models in everything I do.
I made a speach on our wedding day as I too watned to thank my parents as they helped out a lot not just at the wedding planning but in general. It went down really well &I must admit i was nervous but hte champagne helped .
I looked on confetti.co.uk for bride speech ideas - they have some funny one liners & quotes on there.
Best of luck for your speacial day, I hope all goes perfectly for you.
