passport photos

My mum as just rang and ask me if when renewing your passport do you need someone to sign the photo. I said YES but shes haveing none of it! Whos right? Thanks

It doesn't need to be signed if you can still be recognised from your old passport pic. I renewed mine about 6 months ago and didn't need to get it signed.
