Ford Ka revs problem
9 Answers
My daughters Ford Ka has a problem, for a change.
It revs fine when stationary and out of gear but when its being driven the revs on changing gear are staying high initialy, then gradually dropping back to normal.
Does anybody know why this is and how it can be resolved?
Thank you.

That's the problem with Evangelists. They know nothing about mechanics!
Tell them to stick to what they do best, bible thunpoing outside Woolworths on Saturdays and to leave your poor daughter's car alone.
Hasn't she suffered enough?
Honestly - whatever next? Exhausts and Brakes by the Catholic Church?

Hi bandit, sorry to be boring but here is your sensible answer. This is a common problem on the Ford Ka. It is likely that the Thottle Position Sensor is faulty if the engine is revving between gears. The other thing to check is the Idle Control Valve which can be carefully cleaned but usually the symptoms for this is the engine stalling when idling in neutral.
Check out this link. It gives some useful info on the Ka. You will see the reference to the TPS in the Recall section at the bottom of the article. Good luck -
