Hot Mail

I keep getting a message telling me that internet explorer cannot display my hotmail. It accepts my address and password but can't seem to get any further, This happened once before on my old computer (dial up Freeweb)and lasted for over a week. I now have a new computer, Virginmedia broadband and PC tools anti-virus and firewall but why would they block it when it has been working well for over a week ? Thanks
