6 Answers
I have been runing (hard 8 mile at least three times a week) for 20 years now but over the last few years I am getting giddy feelings accompanied with cold sweats, not after exrcise but it just comes up on me all of a sudden out of the blue. my diet seems to be good. If I eat a sweet treat (mars bar etc.) it subsides and Ifeel better almost imedeatly

Quite the opposite in fact - I'm diabetic so I should know! It may be as a consequence of your exercise even if it doesn't happen during or straight after. It's not serious and nothing to worry about and you seem to be doing the right thing, having something sweet, to deal with it. Maybe try carrying a tube of fruit pastilles or something in your pocket when you go out in case it happens. You probably will only have to eat a few of them to stop feeling wobby. Hope that helps. xx
Hi there, I agree with Miss Gray. I'm a hypoglycaemic runner. I'm fine running, but an hour or two after I've eaten I get a dip in blood sugar. It's remedied by eating more food (bananas are good, sugary foods repeat the cycle). It can be tested by having a glucose tolerance test but they tend to be done at hospital by GP referral. Diet is often the best answer. I tend to keep a stock of food with me to graze on all day. Good luck xx
