This time without the quotation marks.
I was informed recently that if you change a tyre on a bmw car, you should make sure that the replacement tyre has a star, along with all the other information, ie. sizes etc. , that are written on the side of the tyre.
Apparantly, this means that the tyre is approved by bmw, although not legally binding.
Anyone else heard of this ?

ive got one of the old m3s and ive never heard of this star thing......
most important thing is making sure they are the same size, correct rotation, same thread pattern on same axle etc etc,

maybe a new thing though.......
total rubbish,
I have a 330 touring, and in order to save money fitted slightly less expensive, but correctly speed rated tyres, the only problem is that they are really noisy. It was a real false economy and I almost feel like chucking them away, but at about 400 a set cannot bring myself to do that.
