My question is simple: What will win the Grand National next Saturday.

Out of sentiment I will be putting couple of bob on "Simon," the horse owned by the widow of the winning trainer in 1956, 1961, 1970 and 1976, but that may not be so much a tip as a token of my ignorance on horses.

Did back "Lucius" in 1978, "Party Politics" in 1992 and "Amberleigh House" in 2004... and loads of good place money down the years, so looking to keep a bit of a sequence going though. (Havent worked what the sequence is yet though!). Lets have your 1-2-3-4, maybe later in the week when the list of runners is finalised.

Hi stokeace
That's actually a five star answer! If you gert the winners what else are we looking for!
Point Barrow won the Irish National last year...and the horse that won it this year looked like he was going to collapse with exhaustion after it last Monday. It was un-nerving for some moments.

Hi -Z-
Didnt even know there was a horse called Mr Ed. Is he white? You're taking me right back now to the days of Jeff Astle's great goal for West Bromwich Albion in the 1968 Cup Final and after tea we would watch Mr Ed, the talking horse, on TV, in the American series. How come Hollywood has never done a film on Mr Ed? They've certainly got a talking horse in the White House.
How about Red Rum? It always wins. Hope this helps.
Has to be "Joes Edge" for the win, but watch out for "Point Barrow" and "Billyvodden" and my tip for an outsider goes with "Ballycassidy" had a good run last year before falling at 25 or 26 fence, should get around 50/1 at the moment as well.

Due to the decison by the AB morons to move this thread from Sport to Adverts (never studied logic) responses to the quesiton dried up just as the final list of runners were confirmed. In the end I have cganged my mind several times and gone for a different list:
1. Hedgehunter;
2. Le Duc
3. Simon.
Good luck to all -- though I have to say AnswerBank cheesed me off no end.....

Forge to add my fourth, and as most bookmakers are paying on five, a fifth.

1. Hedgehunter
2. Le Duc
3. Simon
4. Joes Edge
5. Ballycassidy

P.S. to the suggestion about Red Rum.....this was a serious thread
