I've recently been getting paid by a pub that i certainly don't, and never have, worked for. I've had 3 or 4 amounts paid into an account of mine that i don't really use. They have been paid in weekly and total nearly 500. The account is a flexi loan account which has a limit of 500 and is usually ignored by myself. It has a limit of 500 and i suppose is a bit like a credit card, i can spend up to the limit and make payments every month against what i have spent. What should i do? I assumed that after the 1st or even 2nd payment the bank or business would realise their error and reclaim their money but they haven't. I feel bad that someone might not be getting paid but it's been a month so something must have been sorted. I'm a little unsure what will happen to me because of this. I can't be bothered to go to the bank at the moment and sort it because it's their mistake and i'm paying less interest because of it. But on the other hand i don't want to be accused of theft or anything. I thought about spending it but i'm pretty sure they would not appreciate this. Any ideas/suggestions/legal standing?????????
just keep it in your account until they ask for it back. It usually takes more than a month to get these things sorted in my opinion. They willl ask for it back, and you are legally and morrally obliged to pay it back, but in the meantime, let it earn interest for you
