Why is it that on this site (Body & Soul) that people ask only really serious questions or really ridiculous questions? Personally, I would like to see some mediocre, sort of in between, questions posed. Questions that do not result in an outpour of pity, or, on the other hand, mobilize a riotous mob. Such a question would be: Is there a place in Staffordshire where you can take your pet tortoise for a walk?
I posted a serious question yesterday .
Firstly - I did not come on looking for pity. I wanted the advice of people who weren't emotionally involved in my situation and the anonymous nature of the site helped me with that.
Secondly, I think it's patronising to call the responses that other users took time and thought to give an 'outpour of pity'. Their answers gave me some things to think about and helped me accept my feelings a bit more.
I realise you probably meant this as a light hearted question and I apologise for being the grumpy old woman slapping you on the wrist, just felt I had to defend the fact that in amongst all the inanity, there are some good people on here that will take the time to support others.
Hope you've had a good weekend. Take care. x
Yingyang, in no way, matter, or form was I referring to your, or anyone else's ,specific question when I posed mine. As you mentioned, It was a "light hearted question". I am glad that you gained some comfort from the responses to your question, and, believe it or not , I consider myself to be one of the numerous "good" people on this site........cheers.
Stewey, i'm a bit loopy at the moment but not yet paranoid to believe that you were singling me out in any way! Nor did I mean to attack you personally and I apologise if you've taken it that way. I'm sure you are one of the good guys, there are very few bad'uns on here.
I rarely post these days and when I do it's never with the intention to offend or upset people with my answers. I hope we meet in another thread and can move on from this.
I would personally take a tortoise swimming. If they don't float it will be great diving practise for you. x
