It is my daughters graduation in July and I have no idea what to wear for such an occasion!
If there is someone who has been to one themselves and could give me some advice, protocol etc it would be very helpful.
Thank-you
Jules

I think it's most important that you feel both comfortable and confident.

I have been to three graduations, and there does not seem to be a dress code. Some mothers wore smart suits, others 'garden party' day dresses and many wore nice trouser suits.

Don't forget it is likely to be warm.

As you will be photographed with your daughter, I suggest you avoid black - you will merge in to her graduation gown. Think about your heels too, especially if you are likely to be standing on lawned areas for any length of time.

Thanks for that Ethel, that is really helpful and I will bear that all in mind. I won't buy the outfit yet but wait and see about the weather etc first.
Thanks for the quick response too!

If I were you I'd ask your daughter's opinion, they always seem to know better than us, don't they?
All depends where it is, but you can play safe and go for plain coloured skirt suit and a pretty blouse. Make sure your hair and make-up make you feel good and most of all, wear a SMILE.
And don't forget the tissues.
I shall be wearing the same thing I did at the last one.
It's not due to be "oop North" is it?
Shall I be seeing you there?
