has AB become lame in the last few months? It just seems that there are fewer good questions and fewer good answers, and a lot more meaningless chatter and joke answers.

I started a similar thread last year and provoked about 270 replies mostly critical. When I first used AB it was to find out the answer to genuine questions (presumably why it was christened ' The Answerbank'?). It has since degenerated into a chat room on some subjects and in the football sections, some use it just to slag off another team's supporters. I still love it though and get really good replies when I need to know something. There are some clever people out there who have helped me a lot.

Supplementary to B00�s comment above, there are also many good answers out there, especially if they are mine of course. Even this one.

Yes newtron, there is a lot of chatter and less good questions but I think some ABers have been put off by the number of people who just answer by a link with nothing added.
If everyone added a few words to the link and SHUT UP if they've got something sarcastic to say there might be people who would stay. Do you notice the number of green names? and looking back on your first questions who's still around? Pity but we can all learn...
