tax back on work clothes

i'm a teacher and need to wear a suit for work, somebody has told me ai could be able to claim tax back on my spends for suits as it is a necessity for work, is this true?

No it's not true.

Suits are regarded as normal clothing - only specialist clothing may be claimed. For instance if you were a domestic science teacher (if they still exist and are still called that) you could probably claim for overalls.
