I am still struggling with a few - can anyone give any clues for questions:
43 - Pair left in motor car ... (6)
53 - I am captured by temporary ruler and a lot of soldiers. (8)
87 - .... choose to make a speech for the constituents. (10)
99 - Body of men came back in pursuit on horses so physically exhausted. (5)

I have seen the other clues for no. 31, but still can't get that one. Are there any other hints - or do I have the wrong word for 'dear' in Italian? (I thought it was 'caro').

Thanks - I'll carry on working on these. I think I have 99 now - but for 53, regiament has too many letters doesn't it?

JimJools - 68 is an anagram of 'hardened nag',
75 - an anagram of 'bland romeos for a' - the name of an actress
77 - another name for a flower also called 'none-so-pretty'

Hi, I do not think that there is a typo, jimjools.
I think it is "I am" contracted to " I'm". and if so, that gets rid of the extra letter. Yes? Just a thought
