i just bought a USB MIDI controller keyboard...

... and it's not making sounds on my music software (Cakewalk Guitar Tracks) or on windows sound recorder. Does anyone know how I can make it work??? Please help!

Never used a USB midi keyboard, but back in the dark ages when they plugged into the joystick port you had to add it in the software (cakewalk) itself - in the menus under devices. Might be the same with USB.

(you have installed the drivers haven't you?)

hey, thank you for your answer! I tried looking for 'devices' in cakewalk but unfortunately it doesn't have it.

and er... what's the drivers??

The drivers tell windows what the keyboard is and how it works.

When you plug in the keyboard, do you get a little bubble in the bottom right corner of your screen telling you that the keyboard has been recognised? If so, you're probably fine.

Did you get a disk with the keyboard, and have you installed whatever's on there. Again, if so you're probably fine.
