i have had a very difficult 4 years ,i have not been able to work much due to personell circumstances i have little money and have let my finances slip. a company are going to make me personnelly bankrupt on the 30th of may,i have no possesions at all,i rent a room and i care for my terminally ill brother but i dont want to go bankrupt and why would they make me so if i have nothing,has anyone any advice?

You need to make an appointment to see the debt advisor at your CAB - telephone them today and make sure they know you have the 30th May date for bankruptcy.

The CAB will also be able to advise you to make sure you and your brother are getting all the benefits you are both entitled to.

They will make you bankrupt so that you no longer get into financial difficulty and cause other people problems by letting them down by not delivering products loosing their money and the like, it is not necessarily a punishment. It is done to protect you and potential customers

Speak to the Official Receivers office, they produce leaflets about everything to do with insolvency and are impartial; at least before you are made bankrupt.
