wireless laptop - BT Voyager 2500V
2 Answers
Thank you all who have helped me to decide about going wireless on my laptop. I have had a computer man come along and do this as I was not that confident about setting it up. The only thing I am a bit concerned about is that I have been told that I should change the password every so often but I don't know how to do this. The computer guy said it was perfectly safe with the setup. Also, should I leave the wireless router on all the time or should I turn it offf when I am not using my laptop. I can access the router setup via my internet explorer.
Any answers greatly appreciated

I leave my router on, but it is perfectly ok to turn it off. Many people advise this - not only because it saves electricity, but it gives a little more security - nobody is going to rely on your wifi being on 24/7.
You really should take the time to understand your router settings though. It is nothing to be frightened of, and will help you sort out future problems.

Thank you for the reply on my router, it is a BT Voyager 2500V router. I will try and have a look at the set up but I am always worried that I will mess up something and it wont work anymore. The guy did tell me how to look if anyone was on my wireless connection when i was on it and he has left me a route to get into it via my favourites tab on my internet explorer. which is very helpful. Yes I trust the guy he does it for a living so should be okay.
Anyway thanks so much for your response greatly appreciated.
