Hi there. i am about 4 weeks pregnant and i found out 2 days ago. to say i was shocked is an understatement, but me and my partner are both happy about it anyway. This is my first, and im not exactly worried, just more a little concerned that there are things i should be doing to keep healthy etc.

But hte best advice i can give you is eat the right things, get regular scans, ask other mother's, join mother and baby forums, buy baby books and ask your midwife if you've any concerns. Just relax though. It's ordinary to be concerned over your first pregnancy but you'll enjoy it! :o) xx
thanks!
i did read some questions on the pregnancy bit (which i didnt realise at first was there) somebody there said they did two tests that were positive and the doctor said it was negative..... so now i'm a little worried.....
but i'm just going to relax and see what happens and hope for the best.

Congratulations! Make sure your partner looks after you - no lifting heavy objects (like vacuum cleaners) drink lots of water join NCT classes (if you can afford it) or go on their web site for lots of tips do not eat prawns/pate/soft unpasturised cheese ie brie Main thing enjoy being pregnant - Good luck!

Hi shaylee!
Congrats on your pregnancy!
I'm also pregnant - 28 weeks tomorrow - be prepared for time to flllly past!!!!
redcrx is an expert so listen to everything she says (lol) she's my personal online advisor from Health to Prams lol.
This is my first also, so i understand you worries.
I had really bad sickness to begin with (for the first 3 months or so) and eating ginger is the key to calm that down, also take Folic Acid and maybe Omega 3 oil supplements if you dont eat much fish in general.
Stay away from soft blue vien cheeses such as Stilton and Brie.
I dont drink any alcohol as i think its pointless during pregnancy, only 9 months so i think its worth holding off altogether (even though they say ur allowed a few glasses a week). i dont smoke so quitting was never an issue - but if u do - STOP!!
Anything else feel free to ask, i'm not an expert but learning with experience :o)
