Stuck on two 'tiddlers'!

10 across - Still check if there's time for leading resistance (2,4) - ?t?e?t - seems to be 'at rest', but don't fully understand why.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I'm probably just being 'picky', but I don't feel that 'destroy' is a close enough synonym of 'remove' to warrant its use in this sense. After all, it doesn't follow that, when something is destroyed, there's nothing left. In fact, I would say that is seldom the case. I'm not saying the clue is wrong - just that it's not one of the best .
