Going to the chapel of rest beforehand gives you the opportunity to say your final farewells in private should you wish to.
sorry for your loss.
sorry for your loss.
Sorry of your loss
If its a catholic the mass can be about an hour its a full mass.
When you go to the burial its only about 15 minutes a couple of prays then they lower the body. They then slowly walk around to the front and throw a hand full of soil on the coffin but you dont have to do this.
Ive never been to the chapel of rest

im sorry about your loss the burial is fine you will go to the church then go onto the burial where the priest will do a small service while you are there.go to the chapel of rest you get great comfort from it as long as you feel you can cope with that you can say your personel goodbyes that way good luck my thoughts are with you. xxxxx
We had the same situation a month ago with my partners nan.
The church services lasted about 40 mins (CofE)
We then had to go to the grave (as it was at a different location just down the road)
the grave side 'service' took about 10min, the priest said a few words and the grave was lowered.
We had a very anxious build up to it all with not knowing what to expect etc but it wasn't as 'morbid' as what we had thought.
The chapel of rest thing - its a personal thing totally, but I think that i would like to remember them as they were.
i am sorry for your loss and wish you lots of love.
