mobile to pc connection problem

I have recently purchased a samsung t100 mobile phone. I have successfully installed the software to connect the mobile to the pc. However when i plug the connection into the mobile mc computer completely locks up, even the screensaver and mouse. I have tried it on my friends pc and have no problems. I am assuming that the serial port is not enabled or something on my computer and i have no idea how to activate it or solve this problem. Could anyone please shed some light on the situation for me. Sounds like a software/hardware conflict. What is your PC operating system? Go to control panel - system - device manager - view by type. Any exclamation marks or red crosses showing? If everything seems OK then try uninstalling the software - rebooting - reinstalling - rebooting. If still no go then have you looked to see if there is an online faq or helpline for your phone or a newer release of the software you can download?
