Just out of interest, can anyone tell me now many miles to the gallon my car would do if it was as energy efficient as my body?

If both were going around 15mph and assuming both are running along a flat then in theory the human body is doing about 1000 MPG, although if you're sitting down then this drops to roughly 300 MPG since your body takes quite a lot of energy just to exist.
SInce your average car does say 40MPG urban, at 15mph it'll be doing I guess about 25MPG vs the 1000 for the human.
That is assuming this site is correct (you think I worked all this out? :)).
