hi. my mate has just signed half her house over to her partner, also taken additonal amounts, half of which was put into his account and half into her account. she is now wondering what on earth she has done that for!!! he said he needed the security. he doesn't work and doesn't contribute to the finances. happened about 2 months ago. is there any way she can reverse this?

What do you mean - 'signed half her house over to her partner'?

How exactly? If you mean she has added his name to the deeds - he now has just as many rights over the property as she does.

He may not be entitled to a big a share -(not all propery is owned 50/50) but nevertheless, if he doesn't want his name taken off she will find it difficult.

Especially as the mortgage is now in two names - the mortgage company would have to consent as well.
