Bathsheba is the wife of King David in the Hebrew Bible, so could it be Uncle Dave ??

I have googled came up with uncle oak? but it doesn't fit with other clues

If Uncle Dave does fit with the other clues, I think i would go with that. Uncle Oak(e) had been suggested here before, hence Aquagility's reply but Bathsheba was not, as far as I can see, ever an aunt in 'Far from the Madding Crowd' and the surname of her husband Gabriel is invariably spelled Oak and not Oake.
