Flying
My husband and I are going to Bulgaria in June and today I received a telephone call from the holiday company we booked with to tell me that the flights are being changed. On our return, we should be flying direct to Exeter - they tell us that we will have to fly to Liverpool, spend 60 minutes on the tarmac and then fly on to Exeter. I am not very happy about this as I am not a very good flyer. Can I cancel my holiday if I can't get a direct flight.

as a halberton boy living in watford i sympathise with you.
i was nervous at first but after doing a few flights and getting used to it, ( i am scared of heights, big time! ) i try to make myself stay relaxed, i used to practice this. big breaths, telling myself to calm down and relax, and such like. now i can get on planes no big deal.
please don't allow a thing like this to stop you enjoying travel especially as it looks like flying will disappear soon if the global warming guys have their way.
half this reply doesn't make gramatical sense, but take what i've put as it's meant.
and enjoy your holiday!!!!!!

If you check the rules any "direct" flight can land at another UK airport for "operational reasons" which is what covers what is happening to your flight. So therefore if you cancel you would incur heavy penalties. At least they are offering you a 60 minute turnround at Liverpool - some would off-load you at Liverpool and stick you on a coach journey back to Exeter!
